Cathy Horn, media center director at our high school, recently passed these links on to me. She wanted to share the content with students, but could not because the videos resided on YouTube or other sites that were blocked by our filter. I was happy to provide this workaround, as I agree with her assessment. These are definitely worth a look.

Web 2.0 in the Classroom – Ewan McIntosh, Teacher and Social Media Specialist from Edinburgh, Scotland presents a fascinating survey of Web 2.0 technologies in Education. Though it was created in early 2006 and is a bit longer (35 minutes) this Quicktime video is well worth your time. The presenter’s brogue is a nice bonus! Web 2.0 in the Classroom

this is the initial entry in the blog I was never going to start, as I was relatively certain that I really didn’t have anything worthwhile to say. Obviously this is yet another case of (in the words of Benjamin Franklin) “…being obliged by better information, or fuller consideration, to change opinions….” As much as I would like to claim the credit for coming to this realization on my own, I must give credit where credit is due. Will Richardson’s book finally convinced me that this is simply a good idea. So, let’s see if I can come up with enough cogent comments to merit reading. Stay tuned!
